Hi, my name is Maria Louise and I love
vintage clothing. I started purchasing gowns in
1999 as potential gowns
for my own wedding. I had twelve gowns to choose from by the time we
choose the month of the wedding. By then I knew that I really wanted to
provide a service to other women who are looking for one-of-a-kind new or vintage gowns.
In addition, I wanted to restore vintage gowns from
vintage sources.
ONCE UPON A TIME
. . . . There was a woman searching for that special wedding gown.
She wanted a wedding gown that was unique and one-of-a-kind.
She envisioned a service that provided unique new and vintage one-of-a-kind gowns.
She also liked the idea of collecting bears dressed in bridal wear.
Hence, the idea of both bridal gowns and bridal bears grew.
The gown on the left was the wedding gown for our very own, Maria, the owner of Bridal and Bears' This was a 100 % raw silk gown that retailed for $2,300.00. She created an air of understated elegance by creating an out of this world French bustle with silk roses throughout. You can read the whole story of how this gown was transformed here.
The gown on the right was for Gen's October wedding gown. This gown was a 1904 wedding gown that was found in an attic trunk on a Midwest farm. The gown was restored and fit her like it was custom made. See more of our Happy Brides.
